Home Grown Tallow balms are therapeutic in nature.  Common uses are, skin moisturizer for face and body, anti aging skin care use, balm for rashes and skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis, relief from allergic reactions, bug bites and burns, use as a pain cream for inflamed joints or common aches and pains, use as diaper cream (both prevention and solution to) prevention or decrease in stretch marks and sunburn relief. • will my tallow balm smell like beef?

it IS beef. although we work really hard at eliminating as much beef odor as possible, it will not go away completely. it also depends on the animal we render the tallow from. The good news is that once we add the other carrier oils and essential oils the smell becomes pleasing. However, every batch is a little different.

  • why is the consistency different from my last bottle?

we source our suet from a family farm who raises grass fed grass finished cattle, never given antibiotics or hormones, fed on grass that does not get sprayed with pesticides. Each cow is different and each batch of suet we get is different. Because of this, sometimes the consistency of the tallow can be different. Sometime its like butter, other times it can feel grainy until the warmth of your body melts it down. Although the consistency varies, the process in which we render is always the same and the nutrient and therapeutic content is the same

  • how should I store my tallow? will it melt?

tallow balm is best stored sealed its container out of the sunlight and/heat. we keep one jar in the bathroom, one jar in the medicine cabinet and one jar on the diaper changing table or in the diaper bag. No need to refrigerate your tallow balm . If it is kept out of the heat and if you avoid condensation, tallow balm has a long shelf life.
